Intermediate Hurling-Clara travelled to Killcormac to play Crinkle last week in the intermediate championship. Clara came out on top on this occasion with a scoreline of Clara 3-16 to Crinkle 4-6.The Clara team was D Handy, J Fleming, J O'Brien, W Coyne, E Stones, A Cronin (0-1), D Coyne, S Nolan, S Grennan, M Stones (0-1), C Flanagan (1-7), K Meehan (0-1), G Keegan, D Scanlon (1-3) and D Coughlan (1-3). Substitute: I Melia came on for D Coyne. Playing against the wind in the first half we were 10 points down after 20 minutes but a goal for C Flanagan and points from D Coughlan and D Scanlon late in the first half we were just 4 points down at half time. But second half goals from D Scanlon and D Coughlan gave us the edge and we finished the stronger team.
INTERMEDIATE HURLING 19/09/2010
Clara bowed out of this years Intermediate Hurling Championship when they were well beaten by a very strong St Rynaghs team at the quarter final stage played in Moystown last Sunday evening. Clara were in the game at half time when we trailed by just three points on a scoreline of 0-5 to 0-2. The damage was done in the first five minutes of the second half when St Rynaghs scored 1-2 without reply. Try as hard as we could we never got going after that and were well beaten on a scoreline of 2-9 to 0-4. Team: D Handy, J Fleming, J O'Brien, W Coyne, P Smith, A Cronin, L Hiney, S Nolan, E Stones, I Melia, M Stones(0-2), K Meehan, D Coyne, D Scanlon(0-2), D Coughlan.
