Minor Football-Clara Minor Footballers got their 2010 championship campaign off to a winning start last Wed in Clara against Tullamore. After a slow start Clara went into the dressing rooms at half time down by 3pts with a half time score of Clara 3pts to Tullamore’s 1-3.Clara fought hard in the second half to come out the victors on the slimmest of margins. Final score Clara 1-8 to Tullamore 1-7.

MINOR HURLING - Thurs 15/07
Minor Hurling- The Minor Hurlers started their 2010 championship campaign against Ballinamere last Thursday night in Ballinamere and we came away with a victory. Our next outing in this competition is against Kinnitty and is provisionally fixed for Monday the 26th in Clara. There may be a change to this fixture so watch for local posters. This promise’s to be a mouth watering clash; last year’s Minor Champions v last year’s U16 champions. In Minor A Hurling this years St David’s adventure got off to a good start in Clara last Saturday with a win over Febane/Belmont/Lusmagh. The Clara lads are teaming up once again with Ballinamere and Brosna Gaels in the A Championship. Our next fixture is also a home game v Shamrock’s this Wednesday 21st July in Clara at 7.30pm.

Minor Football Championship - Wed 25th of August
Clara minor footballers played Ferbane in Clara, Clara had a slow start going 0-4 to no score down before Barry Cushen got a goal to leave Clara trailing by a point after 10mins. Ferbane then got a few scores without reply and ten mins from half time they had increased their lead to 0-9 to 1-1 with the Clara point coming from Sam Rickard. B Cushen then pointed a free before Ferbane got a goal. Another B Cushen free left the half time score 1-9 to 1-3. Clara cut the deficit to 4 points after ten mins of the second half with a Stephen O'Brien point and another couple by B Cushen. Joe O'Meara then got a goal which together with a couple of Ferbane points left 3 points in it with ten mins left. Points by Lee and Adam Scanlon then left 1 point in it with five mins to go. With time running out B Cushen pointed a free to equalise the game. This would be the last score of the game to leave the end score 2-10 to 1-13.
