DIV 2 HURLING LGE SEMI –FINAL
Clara suffered only their second defeat of the yea r when we were beaten by Killcormac/Killoughy on an excellent prepared Moystown pitch last Saturday. Clara led by 0-8 to 0-5 at half time. The second half was played in championship fashion and Clara lost out in a final place in the narrowest of margins. Final score of the match was Clara 0-15 to K/K 1-13.Clara team: D mc Cormack, J Fleming, J O’Brien, W Coyne, E Stones, S Nolan, P Smith, C O’Keeffe, A Cronin, J Deehan, C Flanagan (0-7), D Coyne, S Grennan (0-2), D Scanlon (0-6), B Buckley. Substitutes that came on B Cushen, L Hiney and A Ngo.

Junior B Hurling Championship - Clara played Ballinamere in the championship. The teams drew on a score line of Clara 5-7 to Ballinamere 3-13.After a very poor first half Clara were behind 3-6 to 1-4.Clara selectors made a couple of changes and introduced some subs, which made the difference in the second half which resulted in a full time draw. The Clara team was as follows D Mc Cormack, N Mc Evoy, L Monaghan, J Murray, K Murray, P Smith, S Cornally, S O' Brien(3-0), M Hackett(0-2), K Dunne, J Rickard(0-1), A Ngo(1-0), B Buckley(1-0)(capt), B Minnock and W Byrne. Substitutes used were B Gavin, E Wyer (0-4) and N Keegan.

Clara collected their fourth win in this group when we overcame Birr on a scoreline of 3-12 to 1-15, played on a well prepared Moystown pitch last Monday evening. The foundation of this win was laid in the first twenty mins when we lead by 3-5 to no score. Birr had a great second half but we just held on for the victory. We were defeated by Shamrocks in the Semi Final of the Junior B Hurling Championship last Friday evening on a score line of 2-15 to 2-10. Played on an excellent prepared Ballinamere pitch we trailed at half time on a score line of 2-5 to 0-6 and though we hit the front with ten minutes remaining Shamrocks finished the stronger team and deserved their victory. We wish them well in the final.
