Baggots - Centra Store & The Back Door (Pub)
Considering our tradition associated with the GAA since its inception going back to the 19th century when my granfather (John Baggot) worked for Shaws Department stores in Carlow, Longford, and Mullingar, he played hurling and football for Westmeath, Carlow and Wexford and won county medals in Westmeath (Senior Football 1918) and Carlow (Junior Football 1919). Following in his father footsteps (My Dad) Michael E Baggot played club Hurling & Football with Abbeyleix and County Hurling & Football for Laoise back in the 40's and he continued to play when they moved to England and won titles with John Mitchells in Warwickshire in the late 40's and early 50's. He also played inter provincial with Leinster as well as with the army in the Curragh. The tradition has carried on generations with myself and my brother (Michael) playing club football with Clara and winning titles, Michael also playing County with the U14 & Minors with Offaly and then onto the next generation with Deasun playing with Clara with success in most grades including the Senior title in 2009.
