Clara 2-08 Edenderry 2-06.
In-form Edenderry came to Clara with high expectations on a warm Friday night, however it was Clara who came out on top after a resolute display of defending with excellent counter-attacking. With Clara choosing to play against the hill at Parc Prionsias in the first half it was Edenderry who had the slight advantage, yet Clara continued to keep them in check until the halftime whistle.
The second half continued at a tremendous pace with both sides fighting for each score, yet Clara dug deep to edge ahead late in the second half. This was Clara's toughest test to date and they really showed their fighting spirit and ability to work hard for a result
Although fine performances were given by all who played, some players worthy of mention include Kyle Stewart who excelled on his first night in goal, as did "Man of the match" David Newman for his tigerish tackling particularly in the second half.
